Description A native of Manchuria China, the Dawn Redwood (Metasequoia Glyptostroboides) makes a wonderful bonsai tree. It was thought to be extinct until it’s “re-discovery” in the 1940’s” Like the beloved Redwoods of California, the bark is a distinct red. The foliage is a lacy green, that will change color in the fall — and fall off. This redwood is Deciduous. Keep outdoors. Specification 8 years old, 13″-16″ tall. Produces 5-6mm cones during spring.
