This is Artemisia Tridentata ( The Giant Sage ) This species has an amazing smell and survives above 7249 foot elevation Originating at the peak of The Kaibab Mountains In Arizona. A little background:This species lives in its natural state of 60% stone and 40% soilit has small roots and a thick trunk that anchors itself against the elements holding it in place. The plant survives in an amazing state of gathering water from the canopy down ( inverted water supply) 115 (degree) weather in the desert mountains last months with no rain causing this rare inversion. The blossom’s and dry trunk “wicks” moisture to its center allowing life to grow from early morning moisture and dew! As a result ! It can survive anywhere! Customers from humid area’s as well as dry area’s see great growth from this species making it a beautiful addition to any Bonsai Garden. Left to its own! this species can reach 6 to 8 feet tall and grow a trunk thick around as 12 to 15 inches. Popular questions: Will I receive the exact plant in the picture? = Definitely Is this just a cutting? = NO! you receive the entire Bonsai listed here. Can it survive sub temperatures ? = YES! it spends a month or more under snow at its “7,249 foot elevation” during November and December, sometimes into early January. How do I tend to its watering needs? = Misting with a bottle is the most prolific method with base watering once a week when dry for faster growth. Any questions feel free to ask I try to respond to all my customers needs promptly . This style of Bonsai Is known as the Japanese Style, = Han-kengai “Semi Cascade” Modeled after trees that grow from banks over water or down the side of a mountain. The apex of a (full) cascade style. The apex of the tree extends just at the level of, or beneath, the lip of the bonsai pot. It does not fall below the bottom of the pot. Size = over a foot & 1/2 tall and 2 feet wide. (With uniquely thick trunk) !! Shipping Information: I use FedEx with 100$ shipping insurance , I also insulate the box and wrap the blossoms to ensure moisture retention. 10% of all proceeds go directly to THORN.ORG I have always felt this to be of the noblest of reasons for charitable giving.
