Beautiful shade / ornamental tree produces 3/4-1″ Long acorns with saucer like cap and are a favorite of wildlife. Bristle tip leaves have 7-11 waxy lobes that turn red in fall. Easy to grow and care for, fast growth (2 feet/year). Preference is moist soil with some tolerance to seasonal flooding but also has some drought tolerance. Dense crown. These attractive trees grow 60-75 feet in height with a spread of around 45 feet when mature. Prefers full sun (at least 6 hours/day). Soils- clay, acidic, loamy, sandy.
