AUCTION NOT OPEN TO BIDDERS FROM CA, OR, WA, or HI Stewartia pseudocamelia, or Japanese Stewartia, is a fantastic small flowering tree that provides year round interest in the garden. Native to Japanand Korea, this small to medium sized deciduous treegrows to 10–15 m (rarely to 18 m) tall[3][4]often with multiple stemsand/or low branching trunks. The barkis smooth textured, exfoliating as the plants age, and has a camouflaged or mottled appearance with patterns of dull orange and green with grey mixed in. The trees are pyramidal to rounded in shape with deep green coloured foliage. In the fall the foliage turns vibrant blends of yellow, red or purple. The flowersare up to 8 cm wide, with five white petalswith orange anthers; they are shaped like those of the related Camellia, round and flat to somewhat cupped. They are produced in summer, generally in June until the end of August; each flower is short-lived, but many are produced that open over many weeks. This tree does best with some afternoon shade. Stewartia make great companion trees to rare conifers and Japanese Maples. Hardy in USDA zones 5-8. This auction is for one 2 year old seedling grown tree growing in a 1 gallon pot. The tree photographed is the actual tree for sale. It is 26” tall and 11” wide. This is the 2nd of 2 Stewartia trees that we are listing this week. The tree will be shipped in it’s 1 gallon container. We ship on Mondays and Tuesdays via 3-day Priority Mail USPS. This ensures the trees will arrive to you by weeks end and not spend a weekend at the post office. This sale is only open to United States bidders. Also, due to phytosanitary restriction regulations, we do not ship to Oregon, California, Washington state, or Hawaii. Please do not bid if you do not live in the U.S. or if you live in one of those three states. Also, please note that a 7% sales tax will be applied to bidders from the state of New Jersey. No sales tax will be applied to buyers outside of New Jersey. We are experienced growers of rare and unusual trees. Bid with confidence. We provide a 100% satisfaction guarantee. If for any reason you are unhappy with the tree when you receive it, simply return it on a Monday or Tuesday of the week following your receipt of the tree, in its original condition, and we’ll reimburse the purchase price (not to include original or return shipping/handling costs incurred).
